Current prospects for Dangler are better than ever

Dangler is a UK-based platform that enables anglers to buy both new and used fishing tackle from some of the best retailers in the country. Founded by Daniel Hughes in 2018, the platform has grown exponentially and has now raised over £500K in private equity funding. With the help of his brothers Kane and Harry, as well as full time CTO (Elliot), Dangler has onboarded over 17 retailers, making it one of the largest online marketplaces for fishing gear in the UK.

Dangler’s seamless integration with both WooCommerce and Shopify means that retailers can easily upload their entire stock catalogue and receive orders, adjust stock and pricing all within minutes of the live action taking place. This integration makes it easy for retailers to join Dangler and start selling their products, with Dangler only taking a small fee at the point of sale. With over 30,000 individual products in stock, Dangler is set to become the best-stocked website for fishing tackle in the UK.

However, with such a vast catalogue of products, Dangler faces the challenge of matching identical products across different retailers and identifying which category they fit into. To address this issue, Dangler is leveraging AI technology to train a model that can automatically match products to their respective categories without the need for manual input. This solution has already proven its worth, and the platform is now using the model to upload its retailers’ new stock automatically, taking just minutes, instead of days and weeks.

Dangler’s focus is not only on expanding its retailer base and enhancing its stock levels but also on automating as many processes as possible to provide a seamless user journey. With the help of its full-time CTO, Elliot Pitts, the platform is well on its way to becoming the go-to marketplace for fishing gear in the UK. The value in its tech is coming on leaps and bounds, and the current prospects for Dangler are better than ever.
